Yes, durring my fandom obsessions I will give a lot of thought to the love lives of fictional characters. Believe it or not I manage this while having a social life.

I adore his relationship with Kitty, how it evolved over the series from his crushing after her while she's still somewhat weirded out by him, to them being giggling best buds by episodes like 'cruise controll.' I can see there being a bit of genuine attraction towards Kitty, but mostly a desire to have a girlfriend because that's what normal non-blue and fuzzy demon-looking teens want. Especially after coming to the institute and that likely being the first time he even began to think it would be possible for him to have a love life.

On the other hand, his thing with Tabitha was a pure case of the hots. Probably did him a world of good just to hear her call him cutie and mean it. Though I can't picture Tabitha going steady with anyone as she goes on to flirt with Freddy and get awfully chummy with Amara.

Then Amanda. At best, she's a rather bland, flat designated love interest. Kurt has all this interesting interaction with other chars in the series, then bam, out of no where, instant girlfriend. At worst, she seems a little bit too into his mutant form before she gets to know him at all, and he's just too willing to go along with anyone who shows interest. I like that she doesn't make the barest cameo appearance in the last season.
