Dirty Pair

Did a quick little sketch of the Dirty Pair and used it as tablet practice - for I finally have a tablet of my own! And I clearly need a lot more practice with it.


I'm not fond of anime in general. Don't like the way most of it moves, don't like the general look of it. Not saying it's bad, just that I don't dig it.

Dirty Pair Flash though - there is a lot in that series that is bad, but it's my weird little anime indulgence (along with Petshop of Horrors, though I consider that a much better series.) Kei and Yuri have a great dynamic, and even with the bizarrely stick-like figures, the fan service is awesome. The softer look of the older series is more like what I would like to see, but for some reason it's Flash that I'll go back to every now and then for brainless fun. It might help that there are no male love interests around, except for disposable dates ^_^ and one of Yuri's disposable dates is with a girl, no less.

For overly ornate, stop it with the wind and the hair and the petals already, anime pretty-ness - I get my fill of that with Utena. It's good in small doses, but I get sick of it fast. So it needs to come with lesbians. I guess I get my fill of mindless action scenes and clothes transformation scenes with Dirty Pair



I haven't a clue who the Dirty Pair belongs to, but it isn't me.
